SO THis is where it gets visually boring,
but oh so informative.
Whether you’re launching a brand or revamping your shop, the answers are right here.
No jargon. No ego. Just clarity.
Q: What does a brand and retail designer actually do?
A: A brand and retail designer connects your strategy, identity, and interior so your space sells your story.
From logo to layout, from brand purpose to lighting, everything works together as one system. That is the difference between a nice shop and one that makes people stop.
Q: When should I bring a retail designer on board?
A: Before you start renovating or signing with a contractor.
That is the moment when strategy, layout, and experience can align. Waiting too long costs time, budget, and clarity. Early involvement means fewer fixes later and a shop that performs from day one.
Q: Where does d.adville work from?
A: I work from Antwerp and Tournai, designing shops and showrooms across Belgium and the Benelux.
This allows smooth collaboration with clients in both Flanders and Wallonia, and across the French border in English, Dutch, or French.
Q: Do you only design interiors or also the brand itself?
A: Both.
That is what makes d.adville different: one clear flow from brand to bricks. I build the full brand system, from strategy and identity to tone of voice, and translate it into your space so every visual and physical detail works together.
Q: How much does retail or showroom design cost?
A: It depends on scope and surface, but I always work in transparent phases: strategy, 3D design, plans, and styling with two revision rounds included.
Every project starts with a free intake, provided there is a realistic budget. The goal is not more design hours but smarter design choices.

Q: Do you also work with French-speaking or international clients?
A: Yes.
With a base in Tournai, I’m open to work with French-speaking retailers and international brands expanding into Belgium.
Language is never a barrier. Clarity and flow do the talking.
Q: What types of spaces do you design?
A: Mainly shops, showrooms, and branded interiors for sectors like skincare, fashion, furniture, cycling, and pharmacy.
If your space sells an experience, not just a product, we will probably click.
Q: How long does a full retail design take?
A: The timeline depends on your space, scope, and my current project planning.
Each design moves through clear stages: strategy, concept, 3D design, technical plans, and presentation. What matters most is not speed, but a process that gets every detail right before anything is built.
Q: My product is great, but my brand isn’t landing. Can you help?
A: That’s exactly where I come in. A strong product without a strong brand is like a shop with no lights on: people walk right past. I help build a visual identity that’s rooted in who you are and designed to actually connect. Not just a logo, but a whole visual and verbal system that makes your brand memorable and impossible to ignore.
Q: What kind of clients do you work with?
A: I specialize in retail, from fashion stores to concept shops to showrooms to specialized retail like pharmacies. But if you’ve got a brand with guts and a space that needs strategy, I’m open. I’ve designed hospitality spaces and offices too, as long as the ambition is there. What matters most is that you’re ready to stand out.
Q: What’s the difference between interior design and retail design?
A: Retail design is interior design, but with business in mind. It blends aesthetics with strategy to influence how people move, feel, and buy. Where classic interior design might focus on lifestyle, retail design is all about creating a brand experience that supports your team, engages your customers, and drives sales. It’s not better. It’s just built for a different kind of impact.
Q: Do you only work in Belgium?
A: Most of my clients are based in Belgium, from Antwerp to Ghent to Leuven. But I’m not limited by borders. Good design travels. If the project fits and we connect creatively, we’ll find a way to make it work, whether in-person or remote.
Q: Can you improve my shop without a full redesign?
A: Definitely. Not every space needs to start from scratch. Sometimes a sharp reflow, fresh materials, new lighting or smarter signage can completely shift how your shop works and feels. I’ll always look at what’s already there and figure out what truly needs to change. And what just needs a little direction.
Q: I already have a logo. Can we keep it?
A: If it’s strong, sure. I’m not in the business of changing things just to change them. But if your logo isn’t pulling its weight, or doesn’t reflect your brand anymore, I’ll show you how a refreshed or rebuilt identity could tell your story better. Either way, we make sure the whole brand system works together. From labels to window decals to social posts.
Q: Will you handle the build of my shop too?
A: I design everything: the strategy, the floorplan, the look, the flow. And I deliver all the visuals, technical drawings, and moodboards your contractor needs. I also guide them during the process to make sure what we envisioned actually gets built. But no, I don’t swing hammers or manage the crew. I stay in the creative lead, where I bring the most value.
Q: How long does a retail project usually take?
A: It depends on the scale and depth of the project. A small concept refresh moves faster than a full store redesign with branding, 3D renders, and technical plans. I’ll give you a realistic timeline after the intake, but know this: I don’t rush. Good design takes time to think, to test, to get it right. Most projects land between 4–6 weeks for design, sometimes more if it’s complex.
Q: What’s this going to cost me?
A: That depends on what we’re building together. A brand identity and a full shop design don’t live in the same price bracket, and that’s okay. I’ll always be upfront about pricing once I understand your needs. No surprises. No vague “it depends” energy. Just clear, strategic value that matches your ambition.
Q: Do you build websites?
A: I don’t code or build, but I do design. Think of me as your brand’s creative director for the web. I’ll shape the look and feel of your site, guide the layout, create custom visuals, and help you write content that actually sounds like you. If you’ve got a developer, I’ll brief them. If you don’t, I’ll help you find one. The goal: a website that works and wows.
Q: Can you design my Instagram feed or templates?
A: Yes, and not just to make it look pretty. I design social media templates that fit your brand identity like a glove. Whether it’s stories, posts, or highlight covers, I’ll craft a consistent visual language you can use with ease. I won’t run your socials or do strategy. I give you the tools and the look so you can stay on-brand and scroll-stopping.
Q: Can you help me write my website or social media captions?
A: Yep! I help you find your brand’s voice and tone, and I’ll guide the type of content you should be putting out. I can draft key messaging or work with a copywriter if it goes deep. But I’m not a daily content planner. I give you the direction, tools, and tone. You or your team can run with it from there.
Q: What’s the first step?
A: Reach out. If it feels like a good fit, we’ll set up a free intake call (after a quick budget check). From there, we build your brand story, your shop layout, your look… whatever your business needs to stand out and step up. One bold move at a time.
